    Don't Miss This One...!!!
This listing is for one Goodyear Type III 5.00-5 previously-used light alloy, possibly forged (see last photo), split wheel hub which may fit a variety of light aircraft. They are made of aluminum or magnesium (most likely) and it comes as shown and will definitely need at least one new wheel bearing and a new set of high-strength bolts which hold the two hub halves together. There may, or may not, be an O-ring needed inside to seal the two hub halves. There is a hole provided for a valve stem (photos 2 and 4). Potential buyers will have to do their own due diligence on whether this hub will fit a particular aircraft or application. Installation instructions and tires are not included. This may have been the tail wheel for a Piper J-3. The previous owner owned a J-3 up until he retired from flying about a decade or so ago.
This veteran first enlisted in the US Navy in 1952 and he quickly became an AT3, or Aircraft Technician 3. His first shipboard assignment was on the USS Badoeng Strait - CVE-116. He later served on the USS Bon Homme Richard - CVA-31 possibly during some nuclear tests at Eniwetok in the mid 1950s. At some point in the late 1950s he obtained an officer's commission and became a navigator and then pilot. I am fairly certain he served in some flying capacity in SEA for the Navy - not sure what he was flying then. At around the same time he went through Navy SERE training and may have been with the SERE training unit later on (late 1960s - early 1970s?) for a while (hence the coffee cup and utility cover/hat I have listed in a separate listing).
He flew EC-130Gs for the Navy to support secure communications with Polaris equipped SLBM submarines.
He continued to fly EC-130s in the early days of TACAMO and Silk Purse - possibly later flew the E-6A when it took over for the EC-130G/Qs.
He retired as a Commander (silver oak leaf - Navy) and was said to have served at least 30 years..!!
    - that is all I was able to learn.
He may also have flown or at least worked for American Airlines in some capacity after his military career. He absolutely loved to fly, period
, and at one time owned a Piper J-3 and possibly other light aircraft, maybe a Piper Cherokee Warrior. He lived at a small air park (small airport with housing subdivision) and his home was complete with a large hangar. He could drive his Piper J-3 to the runway a couple blocks from his home - heaven for a pilot!

    -
Thank You to my, good, former customers in Mexico
    - Sorry for any inconvenience..!!
eBay's fees are very expensive and you can help me keep costs down  by giving top numbers in detailed seller ratings (DSRs). If you feel there is a problem just let me know before you leave feedback so I have a chance to resolve any issue. NM sales tax will be charged to New Mexico residents only.
I will gladly combine on the shipping but please WAIT to pay so I can easily combine your shipping total. I will happily sell overseas, but I insist (as does eBay) on shipping with a tracking number of some sort via priority or express.
I will not declare a lower amount on the customs form! Please do not ask me to do so.
    I
    will
    not
be responsible for thefts on overseas purchases, especially if the item's tracking shows it entered the customs process in the destination country! I welcome buyers from all over the world.
    Thank you for looking!
